The JapanTimes (Japan) and the Independent (Singapore) published Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang’s speech “APEC Vietnam 2017 – Fostering a shared future in a changing world.”
In his article “APEC summit: Recognition of Vietnam's economic achievements and challenges ahead,” published in the Economic Times (India), Dipanjan Chaudhury noted that Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies amid the global economic recession. As the host country of APEC 2017, Vietnam has attempted to harmonize interests, seek common ground to bridge differences and promote cooperation among APEC members. Moreover, under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country is being counted as an economy of the future courtesy of ongoing reforms.
Thousands of international and domestic reporters are working at the International Media Center during the on-going APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang city.
According to Algerian newspapers, Vietnam stresses the necessity for APEC member economies to establish an agenda with strategies, on which they can work together to help the region continue to be the main driver in realizing the Bogor Goals in terms of trade and investment by 2020 and beyond. Over the past time, Vietnam has actively implemented signed cooperation projects, created a favorable investment climate and gradually streamlined administrative procedures in order to facilitate businesses.
In addition, Malaysian media heightened Vietnam’s achievements of inclusive growth. Notably, the Malay Mail Online posted an article “APEC in Vietnam to promote innovation and inclusiveness” to introduce the activities under APEC 2017 Year in Vietnam as well as bring out positive comments on Vietnam’s outcomes after its thirty years of reforms.
Recently, newspapers in Argentina have covered APEC 2017 activities and socio-economic achievements of the host Vietnam over the past time. The article “Vietnam and the new economic order in the Asia-Pacific” on the website Acercandonaciones.com said Vietnam will play the role of a diplomatic mediator in the talks for the Trans-Pacific Partnership TPP and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). “Vietnam is determined to further promote trade penetration in the region, while identifying trade order conditions of the Asia-Pacific. With its preparations throughout this year and the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the country wants to show the world that it is up to the challenges,” the article added.
Meanwhile, another Argentine website Medium.com covered Vietnam’s economic potentials as it wants to show that Vietnam is one of the attractive destinations for foreign investors.
Besides, Cambodia’s daily newspaper Kampuchea Thmey ran an article “APEC 2017: Vision and new position of Vietnam," in which it stressed that the support and active participation of APEC economies and international and regional organization delegates to APEC 2017 Year are considered a lever to help Vietnam show its dynamic and pioneering role and responsibility as a member of the top important economic forum in the region.
