The country has worked out national action programs on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, while exerting efforts to carry out development programs, particularly in supporting people in disaster-hit areas, Kien stated.

In the coming time, Vietnam will continue its endeavor to help people better enjoy human rights as well as achievements of the national development. It will also remain an active and responsible member of UN offices, including the UN Human Rights Council and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). At present, Vietnam is running for the post as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure, he added.

At the event, participants focused their discussions on the value of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and shared experience in the dissemination work about human rights on the media.
