PANO – The People’s Committee of District 2 and the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City kicked off a project to expand District 2’s Hospital to improve the quality of health services for people in the Thu Thiem residential area.

The expansion project is carried out on the present hospital’s acreage of 15,299sq.m. The construction area is 4,642sq.m with a six-storey building including patients’ wards, health check-up area, technical infrastructure areas, and more. The total investment of the project is VND 169 billion.

When finished, the project would add another 110 beds for patients to the hospital, increasing the total number of patients’ beds of District 2’s Hospital to 560, at the service of around 720,000 people in Thu Thiem residential area.

At present, District 2’s Hospital can provide check-ups for 2,000 people per day. It is one of only a few hospitals at the district level to draw the highest number of patients of Ho Chi Minh City.
