Vietnamese and Lao units sign cooperation agreement
PANO - A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Division 324 of Military Region 4 of Vietnam and Division 1 of the Lao People’s Army was signed during the working visit of the Vietnamese delegation, led by Senior Colonel Le Tat Thang, Commander of Division 324, to Laos from March 13 to 17.
The agreement aims to foster the special friendship and solidarity between the two Parties, States, Armies and the two units.
During the visit, the Vietnamese head delegate briefed the host on his unit’s tasks and achievements over the past time and thanked the Lao People’s Army and Division 1 for their strong support for the two units of the two sides to record good results in the twinning agreement in the 2016-2017 period and following years, especially the twinning activities between the two units in the 2012-2017 period.
For his part, Commander of Division 1, Colonel Phansai Khanthasay, thanked Division 324’s officers and soldiers for their effective and enthusiastic assistance and good preparations for the training course and fact-finding trips for 20 cadres from Division 1.
Over the past five years, the twinned Division 324 and Division 1 have carried out scores of effective activities, such as delegation exchanges, MoU signing, fact-finding trips, and working visits. Via those activities, they have informed each other about information of mutual concern, contributing to the firm protection of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country.
